Turbine technology from our own development
[ Development ]
Micro gas turbine, burners, air bearings and test rigs from our group of companies.
[ Our own development ]
We developed our technology ourselves, from the externally fired micro gas turbine to pyrolysis. New energy technology has to prove itself in testing. That is why our own test rigs and measurement technology are an integral part of our development.
[ Development loop ]
Design, build, measure, improve
Development rarely runs in a straight line. Design, construction, manufacturing and test rig follow one another, and the measurement data feed into the next version. This is how the first prototype becomes a component that works within the target range.

What we develop
Micro gas turbines and turbomachinery
Design and engineering of micro turbine generators, rotors and compressors. We develop micro turbine generators in the 35 kW class, with and without an integrated generator. The group of companies has supplied micro turbine generators and test rigs to customers in Asia.
Combustion and burners
Burners for hydrogen, natural gas and low-calorific gases such as pyrolysis gas. In the funded project H2mGT, we investigated the combustion of hydrogen in micro gas turbines and validated it in a real-world test. For an industrial customer, we manufactured a hydrogen burner and tested it across the entire load range.
Bearings and rotor dynamics
Air bearings for the very high speeds of micro gas turbines, plus the matching test rigs for bearing tests and run-up.
High-temperature materials
Ceramic and oxide ceramic CMC components for micro gas turbines, developed in the joint projects CeramTurbo and doMiGat. This includes measurement, for example of a ceramic turbine rotor by 3D scan in the green state and after sintering.
Additive manufacturing
Laser-manufactured components from the powder bed for gas turbines, developed in the funded project DaNiSh. For industrial customers, we prepare short studies on additive manufacturing in the laser powder bed.
Test rigs and measurement technology
Construction of test rigs, selection and installation of measurement technology, test campaigns from ignition to full load and a traceable evaluation of the measurement data.
High-temperature heat transfer and pyrolysis
The externally fired gas turbine (EFGT) is the basis of ClinX technology: the turbine works only with clean, hot air. That is why we know high-temperature heat transfer and pyrolysis from our own development.
[ Our own technology ]
Turbine technology and related fields
We developed our own technology ourselves: the externally fired micro gas turbine, pyrolysis and much of what goes with it, from burners and bearings to high-temperature materials, test rigs and measurement technology. Our core is turbine technology, and our experience extends far into related fields.
[ Development projects ]
Development projects for customers are handled by our subsidiary ClinX Energy Systems GmbH. Design, engineering and testing for energy technology take place there, from feasibility to the test rig.
[ FAQ ]
Frequently asked questions about development
01 What does pyropower develop itself?
The externally fired micro gas turbine, the pyrolysis in the Pyro-ClinX system and components such as burners, air bearings and heat exchangers. In addition, there are our own test rigs and measurement technology.
02 Since when has the micro gas turbine been in development?
The externally fired micro gas turbine has been developed further within the group of companies since 2012. The technology received the Innovation Award Berlin Brandenburg.
03 Where is testing done?
On our own test rigs and in our test and demonstration plant in Cottbus. It has reached around 30,000 operating hours.
04 Who does pyropower work with in research?
In joint projects with universities, research institutions and industry. These have produced components made of ceramics and by additive manufacturing, as well as findings on hydrogen combustion in micro gas turbines.
05 Can I commission my own development project?
Development projects for customers are handled by our subsidiary ClinX Energy Systems GmbH, from feasibility to the test rig. You can find contact details and services at clinx-energy-systems.com.
