pyropower is a leading German GreenTech corporate group, founded in 2012. We realize decentralized energy systems that generate green electricity, usable process heat, and CO₂-storing biochar from regional biomass. Our plants operate net-CO₂-negative and enable companies and municipalities to achieve immediately implementable, economically viable decarbonization.

Milestones
From technology development to the top of GreenTech.
Start of technology development
With ClinX Energy Systems GmbH (formerly B+K), the development of externally fired micro gas turbine technology began. The goal was to efficiently utilize industrial heat sources and unused residual materials for power generation and to develop a robust solution for decentralized energy supply.
Innovation Award Berlin-Brandenburg for externally fired turbine
The externally fired turbine technology was awarded the Innovation Award Berlin-Brandenburg for the first time. This confirmed that the technology can make a relevant contribution to energy efficiency, industrial power generation, and innovative heat utilization.
Building industrial references
In this phase, a total of 11 projects were implemented or set up with ClinX Energy Systems. The plants provided important practical experience, operational data, and technical know-how for the later expansion of the technology platform.

The production of ClinX Energy Systems is awarded the Energy Efficiency Award.
Founding of pyropower GmbH
pyropower was founded by Lucie Töpfer and Sebastian Kießling to make climate-friendly energy technologies industrially usable and to sustainably produce biochar. From the very beginning, the focus was on combining energy supply, residue utilization, and CO₂ reduction.
Technical further development into a pyrolysis CHP plant
pyropower further developed the combination of pyrolysis, decentralized power generation, industrial heat utilization, and biochar production. The focus was on a practical plant that combines energy supply, residue utilization, and CO₂ sequestration in one industrial process.
Acquisition and integration of ClinX Energy Systems
pyropower took over ClinX Energy Systems, thereby integrating years of industrial experience, know-how, and IP regarding the externally fired micro gas turbine. Through the corporate succession, established turbine technology and pyropower’s pyrolysis innovation were brought together.
Awards for founding, innovation, and impact
pyropower was awarded, among others, the KfW Award Gründen, the Brandenburg Founders Award, and the Brandenburg Female Founders Award. The awards underline the economic, technological, and societal relevance of the company.
Innovation Award Berlin-Brandenburg for pyropower
pyropower was again recognized in the context of the Innovation Award Berlin-Brandenburg. This made the further development of the technology into an integrated system of pyrolysis, electricity, heat, and biochar visible.
Expansion of the industrial reference base
Through the integrated ClinX platform, pyropower has industrial references in Germany and Switzerland. This operational and project experience strengthens the trust of industrial customers in the scalability of the technology.
Strategic partnership solidified
With the entry of pyropower GmbH into Swiss ClinX AG, we are expanding our cooperation with our long-standing Swiss partner into a strategic participation. Together, we are opening up the DACH market and placing the series production of Pyro-ClinX on a broader industrial base.
