Topping-out: large project in northern Germany takes shape
Topping-out ceremony for a biochar power plant
On 1 July 2026 we celebrated the topping-out ceremony (Richtfest) at our major construction site in northern Germany. There, pyropower is building a power plant that produces electricity, heat and biochar from residues. With the topping-out, the structural shell is complete and the focus moves to installing the plant technology.

The whole team on site
We combined the topping-out ceremony with our team day. Colleagues from design engineering, production, electrical engineering and administration travelled together and got to know the site on a guided tour. For many, it was the first time they had seen a project of this size up close. On the same day we congratulated Dr. Jan Rudolph on five years with the team.

A special moment: for the topping-out ceremony, Dr. Jan Rudolph played the hunting horn from the plant.
