Award ceremony at the Federal Ministry of Finance

On 5 May 2026, pyropower received the VORSPRUNG 2026, the business award of the Ostdeutsches Wirtschaftsforum (East German Economic Forum). Elisabeth Kaiser, Minister of State and Federal Government Commissioner for East Germany, presented the awards at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Berlin. Six companies from East Germany were honoured, one from each federal state plus one start-up. You can find our own announcement in the press release on the business award.

Niederlausitz aktuell: selection and jury statement

Niederlausitz aktuell published a detailed report on 6 May 2026. It explains the selection process: economic development agencies, chambers, development banks and the state representations of the BDI (Federation of German Industries) in the East German states nominate companies, and an independent jury chaired by Frank Nehring decides. On pyropower, the article describes the Pyro-ClinX and the plant in regular operation in Görlitz, and reports the jury statement, which highlights its importance for industry and energy security.

Radio Cottbus: award for a Cottbus company

Radio Cottbus announced the award in its Lausitz-News on 6 May 2026. The report briefly describes how pyropower generates electricity and heat and produces biochar using pyrolysis and a micro gas turbine, and refers to the East German Economic Forum in Bad Saarow, ahead of which the award is traditionally presented.

ostdeutschland.info: the six award winners

On 6 May 2026, the online magazine ostdeutschland.info presented all six winners of VORSPRUNG 2026, including pyropower as the winner for Brandenburg, and placed the ceremony in the context of the East German Economic Forum 2026.

The East German Economic Forum

The Ostdeutsches Wirtschaftsforum, OWF for short, takes place every year in Bad Saarow and brings together business, politics and science. In 2026 it ran from 31 May to 2 June. The VORSPRUNG business award honours companies that create jobs and value in East Germany with new ideas. At the start of the forum, rbb television reported on pyropower in Brandenburg aktuell.
