BRANDENBURG 2024 START-UP PRIZE: LUCIE TÖPFER AND PYROPOWER GMBH AWARDED FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY SOLUTIONS!

We are proud and grateful that our Managing Director Lucie Töpfer was recently able to accept the Brandenburg 2024 Founder’s Award on behalf of pyropower GmbH. This award is much more than just a symbol for us – it confirms our mission to develop sustainable energy solutions and actively contribute to decarbonization.

With our pyrolysis cogeneration plant Pyro-ClinX, we have created a technology that converts biomass into electricity, heat and biochar and binds a large proportion of the carbon in the long term. In this way, we not only generate CO2-neutral, but even CO2-negative energy. The resulting biochar also improves soils and helps to store water and nutrients – an added value for the environment and agriculture.

For Lucie Töpfer, founding pyropower three years ago was a conscious decision based on her passion for nature and the environment. As a land use and water management expert with a background in business administration, she sees the combination of science and entrepreneurship as an opportunity to bring about real change.
